About TCLAD
TCLAD specializes in advanced thermal management solutions engineered to meet the stringent performance demands of high-power and high-reliability electronic systems. Our core technologies include Thermally Conductive Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs/PWBs) and Thermal Interface Materials, all produced within our vertically integrated manufacturing facility in Prescott, Wisconsin.
Designed to efficiently dissipate heat and maintain electrical integrity, TCLAD products enable higher power density, improved system efficiency, and enhanced durability. Our materials and processes are optimized to minimize thermal resistance, reduce warpage, and ensure consistent reliability under harsh operating conditions.
TCLAD supports a wide range of industries, including aerospace and defense, automotive, and industrial automation, providing engineering collaboration, rapid prototyping, and custom design support to solve complex thermal challenges from concept through production.
The TCLAD Story
Our story begins in 1987, when a team of visionary engineers at the Bergquist Company set out to tackle a critical challenge in the electronics industry: managing excessive heat in high-power applications. Their efforts led to the development of Thermal Clad products – a portfolio of innovative dielectric materials that are the foundation of TCLAD’s Insulated Metal Substrates (IMS ®) and the inspiration behind our company name.
By 1989, Thermal Clad was patented, paving the way for commercialization. In 1997, as the need for advanced thermal management solutions grew, a state-of-the-art, ISO-certified manufacturing facility was opened in Prescott, Wisconsin – a major milestone in scaling high-performance IMS® production.
In 2014, Bergquist and its Thermal Clad division were acquired by Henkel, bringing global resources and reach. Then in 2021, a new chapter began – Polytronics Technology Corp. acquired the Thermal Clad division from Henkel and the TCLAD company was formed.
Today, TCLAD operates from its 100,000 sq. ft. Innovation Center in Prescott, Wisconsin, supported by a team of over 200 employees. Committed to advancing thermal management technology, TCLAD continues to innovate, delivering a variety of thermal management solutions for high-power density applications worldwide.

In 2018, our U.S. facility underwent a $10 Million investment to upgrade and expand both the capability and capacity of dielectric manufacturing and Thermal Clad IMS® / Metal Core Printed Circuit Board (MCPCB) fabrication. These improvements enabled us to support full-scale, 24/7 operations, handling everything from rapid prototyping to high-volume production in our vertically integrated U.S. manufacturing facility. Today, we continue to invest in innovation by advancing our technology and U.S. production capabilities. From multi-layer circuit constructions to embedded semiconductor technologies, we’re equipped to meet the evolving demands of next-generation power electronics.
TCLAD Technology Corp., Asia Pacific Headquarters
Our state-of-the-art facilities in Asia — located in Hsinchu City, Taiwan, and Kunshan, Suzhou, China (subsidiary) — span over 340,000 square feet of combined office, laboratory and fabrication space. These locations support research, development and 24/7 high-volume production.
Staffed by over 500 skilled employees, these sites design and manufacture a broad portfolio of advanced technologies and include more than 200 worldwide patents. This includes circuit protection solutions such as polymeric positive temperature coefficient (PPTC) thermistors, over voltage and over current devices, as well as thermal management products like thermal interface and advanced dielectric materials.
